Editorial policy

Last updated: 26 April 2026

This page explains how Salaty Whisk's content is produced, reviewed, and updated.

Who writes

Editorial content is written by the Salaty Whisk editorial team. City pages combine generated data (Aladhan API prayer calculations) with human-written introductory text.

Fact checking

Claims about Muslim demographics, mosques, and religious practice are checked against at least one of: the Comunidade Islâmica de Lisboa website, official mosque websites, published academic sources, or Instituto Nacional de Estatística data. Addresses are checked against Google Maps at the time of publication.

Update cadence

Prayer times refresh every day from the Aladhan engine. City pages (intro text, mosque listings) are reviewed quarterly. Guides and articles are reviewed at least once a year.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, write to hello@thewhiskai.com. Corrections are applied as soon as possible and noted on the affected page.

Independence

Salaty Whisk doesn't accept payment to feature mosques, communities, or services. No sponsored content. The only monetisation is Google AdSense, clearly labelled as "Sponsored".

Stance on prayer calculation

The site uses the Muslim World League method (Method 3 in Aladhan's nomenclature) because that's what the Comunidade Islâmica de Lisboa uses. We don't pass judgement on which method is "correct" — we provide calculations and leave the decision to your mosque and to you.
